While all the expectations for all students at Sequoia is high, there are always students who surpass those expectations. The following students earned special recognition for extraordinary performance.

The Golden Hawk award was established in the first year of Sequoia’s existence and is a perpetual award to recognize a student who exemplifies excellence in academics, leadership, character, and citizenship. This year’s Golden Hawk is Gloribel Mendoza. Gloribel won a Whitney League Championships with the girls’ cross-country team and helped take the girls’ soccer team to the Whitney League playoffs. Gloribel was active in band and video production. Gloribel participated in Bread club and was president of Book club. Gloribel also maintained a 4.0 GPA through the entire year. Thank you Gloribel for your hard work here at Sequoia and congratulations on earning the 2019-2020 Golden Hawk Award.
